Isn´t it Ironic

"An old man turned ninety eight, he won the lottery and died the next day" This phrase is ironic because a man who became rich having the money to spend in anything died before he could take advantage of winning the lottery. "Its like rain on your wedding day" It is ironic because your supposed happiest day of your life is ruined by the rain. "Its like a free-ride when you´ve already paid" It is ironic because you have paid for something you could have had for free. "It´s the good advice you just didn´t take" It is ironic because you had the probability to choose doing the right thing and didn´t took advantage. "He waited his hole damn life to take that flight, and as the plane crashed down he thought well isn´t this nice" It is ironic beacause he waited so long for a flight and then when the oportunity came the plane crashed. " A traffic jam when you are allready late" It is ironic because besides the fact that you are late, something appears which makes you arrive later. "A no smoking sign on a cigarette break" It is ironic because you want to stop working to have a cigarette and you can´t smoke there. "Meeting the man of my dreams and meeting his beautiful wife" It is ironic because you fall in love with someone who is married. In my opinion the songwriter is trying to show how sad some situations are and how are they generally taken by people, like ironic things.

How does it make you feel

After watching the video from the song "How does it make you feel" I got to this conclusion. What I interpreted is that at the beginning, when it shows the girl´s parts getting together, what I think is that it refers to the girl just reforming after the relationship she had with the man who is singing, but he says that he misses her and that he is a bit disastrous because he smoked a lot which was really affecting him, but when he talks about he and the girl, he says they are wonderful together, and that being with her was the solution of his problems, an innocent girl who he wanted to be with more than anyone.

Descriptive composition "The Lemon Orchard"

“Cold? the man with the shotgun asked speaking with sarcasm”. This quote shows how bad the black teacher was treated. He was a poor man who wanted to be paid, and that’s why he was kidnapped.

He was a scared silent man. He was insulted, threatened and treated as if he had no rights. “He is dumb also”, this shows he was not treated well, because he was insulted with no reason, probably because he was black, and in different living conditions than them. The white men went to his house in the middle of the night while he was sleeping in pijamas, without letting him put some warm clothes on, they took him to a cold place, so he was shivering.

They kidnapped him for a reason, he went to the church to ask for a payment to the school principal and the church minister but the white men thought that the black man didn’t deserve to be paid. The black man was a kind man, a proud person and a hard worker man who fought for his rights and who thought that the white men were racist. That’s why he should be paid.

“He was cold and tried to prevent himself from shivering in case it should be mistaken for cowardice”. This is the quote that best represented this character because it says what he was feeling, and it shows he was a proud man because he was trying not to look like a coward. For us if this character  was an animal, he would be a bat, because it is different to the other birds and everyone is scared of it, it is not treated well and it’s black.
